SBARDUN

Sbardun aims to connect Welsh musicians with some of the top electronic music producers based in Wales today. There will be an open call to apply for studio sessions with our team of producers both in North and South Wales, a chance to create a track together.

The finished product will be a 5 track EP ‘Sbardun’ with all of the collaborations with the successful applicants of this project released on High Grade Grooves.

Details

Sbardun is an opportunity for you to collaborate with some of the top Electronic Music Producers in Wales today. You will have 2 days in a Music Studio with the producer you're partnered with to write and record your track. There will be studio sessions booked in North and South Wales. The producer will then finish the track at their home studio where you will have the opportunity to give your input via zoom calls.

Your track will be released as part of a 5 track EP consisting from the tracks created through this project on High Grade Grooves.

ENDAF

Music Producer / Live Electronic Artist / DJ / Promoter & Record Label founder, Endaf has been busy spinning records and twiddling knobs for over 10 years and hails from the mountains of North Wales. He is the founder of Sbardun and will be leading the project.

He has releases on Labels including Milleville Music, Kulbasic Records, Future Follower Records and Turtle Wax Recordings, and also runs his own label 'High Grade Grooves' where he releases his Welsh Language tracks. Past live performances include events such as BAFTA Cymru Afterparty, Gottwood Festival, Manchester International Festival, Risin Sound Berlin, Welsh Sports Awards, Swansea Fringe Festival and a live session at BBC Maida Vale studios to name a few. GAS (Gear Acquisition Syndrome) and love for cables has led to Endaf creating a live set consisting of Synthesisers, Drum Machines, Samplers, Step Sequencers, MIDI Controllers, gives the power of creating and remixing electronic music LIVE, allowing room for improvisation making each performance unique.

Having lead the project ‘Sbardun Talent Ifanc’ where he produced 2 songs with 4 young artists from Wales, ‘Niwl’ (Endaf x Dafydd Hedd x Mike RP and ‘Gweld Dy Hun’ (Endaf x skylrk. x Fairhurst) this project is the bigger successor that follows.

IFAN DAFYDD

A former member of Dr Gonzo's Druids, Ifan began releasing his solo music in 2011 sampling Amy Winehouse and Usher for his debut single No Good / Miranda. As well as releasing his single, Treehouse / To Me and remixing artists such as Emeli Sandé and Lianne La Havas, Ifan collaborated with Alys Williams on two songs- Celwydd and Lanydd, for Y Record Las in 2013. Ifan has continued to remix several artists including Lleuwen and Carwyn Ellis & Rio 18. More recently, Ifan collaborated with Thallo to release a version of Aderyn Llwyd, originally sung by Mary Hopkin, combining layers of traditional instruments with electronic elements.

SHAMONIKS

Shamoniks (Sam Humphreys) is a Producer/Musician/DJ from Nefyn in North Wales. Over the past 10 years Sam has been working with various bands and artists from all over Wales such as Calan, NoGoodBoyo, Pendevig, Kizzy Crawford, MRPHY, and Bryn Terfel and has touring experience playing to international audiences, in venues such as the Royal Albert Hall with Sting, and theatres throughout the UK, Europe, Australia, Asia, and North America. Alongside his career as a touring musician he has been composing and producing hard hitting, dark, electronic music under the name SHAMONIKS, collaborating with various artists such as Eadyth, Beth Celyn, and Switch Fusion, as well as composing and releasing solo material. He recently solely composed and performed music for a Sherman Theatre production. Buzz Magazine described it as “intense and provocative acoustic guitar rhythms and bombastic synth beats, his spellbinding music elevates every element during its runtime”. Sam combines influences from each if his musical experiences such as folk, rock, jazz, and drum and bass to “create something that always sounds original” - Lisa Gwilym BBC Radio Cymru. He has previously released solo material on Mindstorm Records and DNBB Recordings, but most has most recently set up his own label called UDISHIDO records, working closely with distributors PYST to release his own music, as well as other independent Welsh artists.

EÄDYTH

Throughout 2020 Eädyth has continued to power through the lockdown period releasing various singles and self-produced collaborations and also had the opportunity to work with a collection of MOBO artists from Cardiff, 'Ladies of Rage' on the album 'Harddwch Du’ , Eädyth also worked with rapper / musician Izzy Rabey on RnB / hiphop / Soul's bilingual Ep 'Mas o Ma'. In late 2020 Eadyth won the 'Triskell' prize awarded by the 'Wesh Music Prize' and funded by Help Musicians.

2021 has started on a high note for Eädyth, with her latest single 'Breuddwyd' on Welsh Language music day and her collaboration with Foxxglove and Cait Johansen on their BBC Horizons funded 'Paradwys' single. Eädyth also won the 2020 award in the Cellar Awards for being the most innovative artist through the lockdown period.

Throughout her music career, Eädyth has received ongoing support and recognition for her sound design skills. She was the composer of 'The Merthyr Stigmatist' who exhibited at the Sherman Theater and continues to work with the theater as a sound designer / composer.

Eädyth is now part of the 'Blocs' artist roster and has joined the label Libertino where he released his latest single 'Inhale / exhale featured on BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 1's Biggest Weekend and on Alex Ruder's show' ambient, neo -classical and meditative music 'on KEXP FM



MESIJO

Mesijo AKA Joe Beardwood is a Cardiff based recording artist, remixer, sound engineer, producer and DJ. A specialist in drum programming, vocal sample manipulation. He draws from a broad range of influences including Jungle, Dubstep, Grime, Jazz, Hiphop and Funk.

He produced the 2021 single ‘No Time - Skunkadelic’ which featured on BBC Radio 6

& BBC Radio Cymru. His self released track Dystopian Lullaby (2020) was featured on BBC Radio 3 and BBCRadio Cymru.

In 2012, at the beginning of his career he released the ambient Dubstep single '‘If Only’ which was picked up by Dubstep.Net and released as a free download to their 1 million+ subscribers.
Later that year Mesijo won a remix competition for John Newman (Universal/Island Records)

Currently he is curating a live electronic music night in Cardiff, at a brand new venue due to open in the new year. Forthcoming releases include an E.P with Skunkadelic, and a single featuring Welsh singer Efa Supertramp.
